Social Gym Sauna

A single glass-fronted, all-electric Finnish sauna filling the 7.5 m wall, designed around social interaction. Two freestanding stoves sit as centrepieces with the benches wrapping around them, so members can sit together, face each other and share the space rather than line a single wall.

Wrap-around bench

Built to be social. One large traditional sauna fills the full 7.5 m wall at 3.0 m deep and 2.1 m internal height (~47.3 m3). The layout is built around people being in it together: wrap-around benching and a central bench face inward so groups can talk and sit as one, not in a row. Two freestanding stoves sit in the floor, one centred in each half, so heat and steam reach evenly from end to end. The stoves stand clear of the benching; seating is a two-tier bench along the back and side walls, with a central bench running off the back bench about 1 m toward the front door. The whole 7.5 m front is glazed with a central Thermowood-framed glass door.
