Recovery members pay to keep.
Turn underused floor space into your highest-retention amenity — a recovery suite members will not cancel.
Members increasingly choose and stay with a club for what happens after the workout. A well-designed recovery suite supports premium tiers, day passes and add-on revenue — and it is one of the few amenities that measurably improves retention among your most engaged members.
The stack that works
Start with a cold anchor, add heat for contrast, then layer passive, low-supervision modalities:
- Cold — a commercial ice bath or electric cryotherapy chamber from Helix Cold. The most-used, most social station.
- Heat — a traditional or barrel sauna from Helix Heat to enable contrast therapy, the highest-engagement journey.
- Passive recovery — red light and PEMF from Helix Recovery and Helix Light, ideal for bookable, self-serve sessions.
Make it pay
Price recovery as its own tier (often £15–£40/month above base), pay-per-session, or bundled day passes. Even at modest utilisation, a cold-and-heat anchor can underwrite its cost within 12–24 months. See the maths in our guides to building a recovery suite and the best recovery equipment for gyms.
